We recently got snowed in from the BIG snow storm of 2014 and thankfully I received my copy of Wildwood Creek by Lisa Wingate just in time to be able to dig in while being home bound.
I really enjoyed Lisa's book Firefly Island so I was excited to read another novel by her. I'll have to be honest though, it took me quite some time to really get IN to this book. There were several chapters that I had to force myself to read. I think a lot had to do with this book's focus on a historical town (made up of course) and I'm not much of a history buff. I will say, that once you get about half way through the book, the plot does thicken and it grabs your attention. The last 2-4 chapters of the book are AWESOME and definitely worth the read. I loved the ending, surprising yet predictable but had me staying up late to read 'just one more chapter'.
I give Wildwood Creek a 2 1/2 out of 5 stars.
